In Microsoft Windows, there is a feature called Windows System Restore, which helps users to get back to their original computer’s state including system files, installed applications, Windows Registry, and system settings. This feature is useful to overcome system malfunction and all other problems related to Windows errors.

If you have created a system restore in your system, it is turned on by default and takes snapshots of your system drive periodically. These snapshots are known as restore points, and can also be created manually. How to Create Restore Point in Windows 7?

If you want to restore your system from a system restore point, you need to go to the System Restore wizard.

  6. On the System Protection window, type a name for your system restore point. Then click on the Create button.
  7. During the creation of a system restore point, a progress bar will be shown there. Wait until the restore point is created successfully.
  8. Once the restore point is created successfully, click on Close.

How to Create Restore Point in Windows 8?

  1. Go to the Control Panel and click on System icon.
  2. On the LHS pane, click on the System Protection link.

    Simply go to the Start menu and type System Restore and then click on Create restore point.
  3. On the System Properties window, click on System Protection tab.
  4. Turn on the protection for the drives of which you want to create system restore points. You can also configure the system to restore point settings.
  5. Click on Create button to create restore point.
  6. On the System Protection window, type a name for your system restore point. Then click on the Create button.
  7. During the creation of a system restore point, a progress bar will be shown there. Wait until the restore point is created successfully.
  8. Once the restore point is created successfully, click on Close.

Steps to do System Restore in Windows 10

  • Search System Restore in the Search box of Windows.
  • Then Create a Restore Point from the results list.
  • In the System Properties, Dialogue Box go to System Protection tab and click on Configure.
  • Click on Turn on System protection option and define the Max Usage.
  • Click on OK Button and then Apply the changes.
