FAQs Related to SysInfoTools PST File Repair Software

Are you looking for some questions and their answers which are supposed to be commonly or frequently asked while using PST File Repair tool of SysInfoTools Software? Some questions (along with their answers) are given below which might arise in your mind while using PST File Repair tool:

Ques 1: I recovered my data from a damaged hard disk. Everything is fine except few of my .pst files are having problem. I cannot open some of my recovered .pst files. I noticed that the file size of those .pst files has been increased. What causes this problem? Can I repair those .pst files with your software?

Thanks for telling us that those .pst files are recovered from a damaged hard disk. As you have noticed that the file size of those .pst files have been increased, this means some unwanted characters or junk data have been appended or added to your .pst files while you were recovering them from your hard disk. The appended data is the only reason that causes this problem. It can be appended in the file before the header part starts or at the end of the file. There are many third-party PST File Repair or recovery software which can recover your file if the unwanted or junk data appended at the end or the mid-section. But if the data is appended before the header part, SysInfoTools PST File Repair is the only software that can recover your .pst file. Our software supports recovery of a .pst file that is overwritten and some data have been appended to any part of the file, i.e. either before header or after footer or mid-section of the file. Make sure one thing, you must check “Handle Alignment errors in PST files” box of our software before you start scanning your corrupt .pst file.

Ques 2: I have an Outlook .pst file whose header part is missing. It seems it has been deleted from the file. I tried to recover the file by using some third-party recovery software, but none of them worked. I have heard about your PST File Repair software. Can I use it to fix this situation?

Yes, you can use SysInfoTools PST File Repair software to fix your problem. You have mentioned that the header part is missing from your Outlook .pst file as it has been deleted. A computer virus seems to be the main reason behind this situation. Usually a computer virus can corrupt a file by overwriting it, but sometimes it may also delete some part of the file. The header part of your file has been deleted due to virus attack. If the header part is corrupted or damaged, then it can be repaired or recovered by many PST repair or recovery applications. But here the header part is not corrupted; it has been deleted from the file. If the header is missing from the file, SysInfoTools PST File Repair is the only software that can recover the data from your file. Make sure one thing, you must check “Handle Alignment errors in PST files” box of our software before you start scanning your corrupt .pst file.

Ques 3. I used SysInfoTools PST File Repair software to repair my .pst file. It took enough time to scan the file but did not recover anything from it. What does it mean? Is your software is not able to recover my corrupt .pst file?

No, absolutely not. Basically there are three modes of recovery: Standard, Advanced and Deep mode. We have no idea which mode you would have selected to recover your .pst file. Standard Mode of recovery does not take much time and handles minor corruption issues from the .pst files. If you select this mode but nothing is recovered, then you should check Advanced Mode. Advanced Mode of recovery may take enough time and handles major corruption issues from .pst files. If you select this mode but still nothing is recovered or you are not satisfied with the recovery, then you should check Deep Mode. Deep Mode of recovery is highly effective mode for recovering corrupt .pst files. It will take a lot of time but can recover data from a severely corrupt .pst file. You can select these different modes of recovery to recover data from your .pst file. And make sure one thing, you have selected the correct version of your .pst file and its encryption type before you can start recovering the file with any recovery mode. Sometimes this may also be the issue behind this situation, if you select the wrong version or wrong encryption type or both.

Ques 4. I tried to repair my corrupt .pst file with SysInfoTools PST File Repair software. I select the file and check auto-detect box. It detects the file version and other information but does not scan the file. Why does it happen?

This situation may occur if the selected .pst file is severely corrupted. If you select a corrupt .pst file, check auto-detect box and the software does not scan the file, this means software could not read or detect the correct file version and other information. It seems the file is corrupted from the header part file information is either corrupted or deleted. If the corruption level is high, software fails to detect the selected file information. In such situation you need to select the file information manually, such as: file version and file compression.
