How to Split or Merge PDF Files Manually

You can easily split large size PDF file into multiple parts. I had shared the manual technique that will guide you to split PDF into numerous parts. Firstly, download the Adobe Acrobat Pro, and then follow the steps shown below:

 Step 1: Open Adobe Acrobat Pro program.

Note: To know the selected file size, then Click on  View Menu -> Press on Details option.

Step 4: Now, Tap on Document menu -> Click on  Split Document… option.

Step 5: Now, a split document screen will pop up, choose the options and then Click on OK button. The options mentioned in the image are:

  • Number of pages: Select maximum pages per split.
  • File size: Split by maximum size.
  • Top level bookmarks: Set up bookmarks before using the option.

Note: 1) For Multiple parts division of PDF file:

2) Choose the files using Add Files option you want to split.

Step 6: Now, save the output document at your desired location -> Click on OK button.

2) PDF Merge Method:

If you have saved multiple PDF files on your computer system, then you can merge them into a consolidated file for easy administration. Like for PDF split process, you require the full version of Adobe Acrobat Pro, similarly, you need for PDF merge process. Initially, download the full version of Adobe Acrobat and then follow the procedure shown below:

1: Launch Adobe Acrobat Pro program.

2: Click on Tools menu -> Choose Combine files option.

3: Now, In  Add Files menu -> Select Add files option to add the list of file for the PDF merge process.

4: A screen will open in which all the selected files will display.

5: You can preview and rearrange their order as per your choice, you can also use Move Up and Move Down buttons.

6: Once the arrangement process is done, Click on Combine Files button.

7: In a few seconds the PDF merge process gets done. To save it, click on File menu -> Press on Save As button.

Limitations of PDF Split and Merge Manual Method:

  • In the manual method, you can’t use your corrupt files for PDF split or merge
  • Sometimes, duplicate files get merge or split in the process.
  • If you don’t have installed the full version of Adobe Acrobat Pro software, then you can’t split or merge PDF files.
